My daily commute does not go more than 30 miles a day, if I had the money I'd buy one just to make all my small trips in.

The Chevy Volt will only go 40 miles on electric charge. They did this because something like 75%~ of Americans have a round trip commute of 40 miles or less.

It's not replacing the other drive train options- it's an additional drivetrain that will be perfect for many people. It's a purely positive thing...

Exactly-- could be great for many city commutes.

^^well, I do agree that it would be great for certain people... But I would NEVER buy one. I'm too much of a "Petrol Head". I love the raw, brute force that a gasoline engine makes and With a battery powered engine, there's no performance aspect. It's a great idea.... but I'm sure it won't see much love around here.....

it has no trunk space at all...even if it's just for a daily commute to work, sometimes people have to take things in where you gonna put it

I am also a full on gas motor guy, love the performance. Love the fact that I can modify my gas motor to make more power. I dont see myself getting anything other than gas or diesel in the near future.

However, you are wrong about battery powered cars having no power. With a gas motor, you have a torque band. WIth a battery car, you get all your torque, right away. Thats pretty damn cool.

Im not saying todays battery cars have any performance, I am jsut saying that there is the potential. I dont expect to see any production performance battery cars ANY time soon, but there is the potential to do it.

WAY too many performance mods to list. Check profile if you wanna know. And yes, I installed all my mods myself in my garage. No special tools.
