Windstar Keyless Entry

If this is the wrong place to put this, please move it.

My parents have a Windstar that my father used to use for hauling TV for his 2nd job. However lately the keyless entry has stopped working all together. Does anyone know where that's located so that I can figure out where it is and see if there is indeed something wrong with it.

I'm sorry, i should've been more clear on that. Yes the batteries are OK, used a fresh pair from my Focus keyless. I suspect that the reciver is bunged up somehow, and was looking to see if anyone knew where it is located on the Windstar's.

Does it have a key pad on the door and if so, does the key pad work? The keypads are notorious for developing shorts in one or more of the buttons over time which appear to the module that the button in question is being pressed all the time and basically causes the keyless not to work.

If there is no keypad, most likely have a failed module.

Actually no, this is one of the Windstar's that only has a keyhole in the driver's side. I have suspected that it was a failed module and wandered if anyone knew where this module is located, I have heard 3 locations, under the hood, under the seat and under the dash on the driver's side.

I seem to recall some of them were behind the trim panel on the passenger side behind the sliding door. You remove the weatherstrip from the rear of the door opening, pull the trim panel away from the side and there it is, but it's been a couple of years, so I can't say for sure. That may be the newer ones.
