2.3 Dynolicious Run (anyone tried it?)

hey, I recently installed the dynolicious program on my ipod touch (for those of you who don't know about it here's the link- http://dynolicious.com/features.php) Anyways, it uses the accelerometer in the ipod to measure all kinds of data. I was just wondering if anyone used it, I just went out for a run the other day and here are my results:

I just have an ST with a stealth intake (don't know how much of a hp gain that is, maybe 3 or 4?) and it's said my calculated max hp was 149.

Definitely worth it for 12$ in my opinion. Let me know what you guys think.

Is that calculated at the wheels cause if so then that is no way accurate. Flywheel HP is more likely.

Oh I see what your doing. It is calculating HP for all the gears you go through. Most dynos are done in 4th gear from around 2000 RPM to redline. (which I don't advertise doing on the road cause thats up around 120MPH... lol) You need to have it in 4th gear to calculate accurate wheel HP because it is the closest gear ratio to 1:1. You will get inaccurate readings for HP in any other gear.

yea I meant to say that sorry. You enter predicted drive train loss and then it tells you the calc hp at flywheel.

It's somewhere between 120-125mph before the rev limiter kicks in or you make your transition into 5th gear.

I got g-tac (the free one) on my iphone. Doesnt calculate hp, but give 1/4 mile speed/time, 60 ft, etc.. Figured since it uses gps and acelerometer to calculate times it had to be close.... 14.29@102mph. I dont think so. One thing i thought was right on is the graph it showed of my three runs. Showed too much wheel spin in 1st gear on the first run, missing third on the second run, and making a somewhat perfect run on the third pass. The graph detail was on the money. I want to try and compare some of these to my uncles g-tec pro eventually. Then use the best for there. Theyre based on the same technology.

yeah we all know it isnt accurate versus a real dyno. id say do a pull in third, save it, do some mods then go again in 3rd. even this will give you a good idea regarding hp gained from mods

Gtech's are really close to actuals, and it use the same technology, so if a company does enough r&d.... It could be super useful.
