Interior size

Hi there hopefully this is the right place to ask, where looking into buying an "cheap" second car and we are looking into the ford focus between 2004 and 2006 although we like the ZX5 better we were wondering if the interior room is the same between the ZX5 and the ZX4 especially the backseat , condidering that we have 2 kids with car seats.

Any suggestions

All Focus'es (Foci?) have the same wheelbase( 103.0 inches), so the back seat legroom should be the same for all the different body styles. It's only a matter of convenience and luggage space. As for overall length, the hatchbacks (ZX3 and ZX5) are the shortest (168.1 inches); then comes the sedan (ZX4)(174.9 inches); the wagon is the longest (178.2 inches). reports that the ZX3 / ZX5 has 18.6 cu ft of luggage space with rear seat up; 43.0 with it down; The sedan has 14.0 cu ft of luggage space; the wagon has 35.0 cu ft of luggage space with back seat up; 73.0 with it down.

--- You need the wagon.

The back seat area will be exactly the same for the ZX3, ZX5, sedan (ZX4), and the wagon. Each has the exact same wheel-base. The difference is all in the trunk space (aside from the obvious difference in the door length of the ZX3 and the more difficult access to the back seat because of the lack of rear doors). As far as the trunks go, the ZX3/ZX5 have a taller area but not as deep as the sedan whereas the sedan has a deeper area and a smaller opening.
