svtf's are tough as trucks!!! lol

two nights ago I was cruising about 50-55 mph up highway 95 and there was a sheriff who had a van pulled over so I was trying to not be distracted by the annoying lights. I looked up again and there was a doe about 15 feet ahead... I was in the left lane and she was running to my left. I hit the brakes and swerved right and she stopped and I hit it head on going about 45 mph. It scared me to death and of course the first thing I checked was my car, not caring about the deer or myself or traffic around me lol. at 45 mph all it did was brake the passenger turn signal cover in the upper grille, break my license plate frame, bend up my license plate a little, and a couple really small hard to see dents on the driver's side front fender. I bought Kritter's OEM grille and just got the license plate frame from the local Ford dealership. about $70 altogether! Tgis is one area where the focus stands out from other small cars! it's a tough car! American pwnage!!! :)

Hey I can agree with the body durability

I got hit from behind twice and the first time put a few black rub marks on my bumper that were buffed out, other guy cracked his bumper
2nd time at a red light, I got one mark I just recently found but its very well hidden its like someone poked my bumper with a uncapped pen so the paint is damaged
but otherwise I had no other damage while the other car was kinda messed up

I live in the country gotta watch for them things all the time. You did the right thing turning toward the direction it was coming from... can't win 'em all tho. One intentionally rammed my dad's E-150 one night. We could see that its head hit the hinge (they're on the outside on side doors), that shit had to hurt. At least you didn't end up like this...

Actually, you arent supposed to swerve AT ALL and hit it head on. In washington we are taught this: if you nail the breaks and keep it straight, you will kill the animal and YOU will walk away. If you swerve you will most likely hit the animal anyways and kill it, plus possibly land yourself in the ditch or hit a tree, and therefore could kill yourself and your passengers. All that just to try and save an animal.

I had a guy in a toyota truck rear end me this christmas season and there wasn't a mark on my car. His bumper was dented and scuffed. Love ford body durability and bouncyness.
