What would you do ?

im torn. right now my 05 zx3 has 87k miles , sqeaks , rattles and clunks all over the place. still owe 5400.

been looking at an 04 silver svt , excellent shape 80k miles.

or should i look for an 07 with low miles and start modding from a low mileage zx3.

what im worried about with the svt is the clutch issue , im worried my current car may not make it much longer so i want a new one. money isnt an issue but i want a hatchback. what would you guys do ? take the gamble on the svt or just get another 05+ zx3 with low mileage ?

why not take the time and find out what is causing your problems and keep your car? i have over 150k miles on my focus and still going strong. just do some searching on here and start learning about your car and find your problems and fix them..

but if your focus wasn't rattling or clunking, it wouldnt be a focus, now would it?

..Okay all jokes aside. Your 05 has 83 K, and the SVT has 80 K, the SVT is lots of fun to own ( and drive) but maybe if you are tired of your 05, look into buying something with lower miles? there are still SVT's to be had with half the miles of your car. I don't think you would be dissapointed with an SVT, just find out what the previous owner has done to it and see if the clutch issue was taken care of.

Beleive me, buying a SVT won't get you away from rattles, probably have more. But I love mine, rattles and all.

You can probably spend less money diagnosing and fixing the problems than the money you'll lose through the trade..

do you realize that you are buying the exact same car? and they have the same suspension and chances are it too will start to rattle and shake with high miles? that's how cars are my friend once they get high mileage things start to shake rattle and roll!!

i have 150k on my focus and believe me it does rattle over speed bumps, over pot holes...that's how it goes...so you midas well just fix the car you have rather than get raped on the trade in, and have higher car payments. just my 02

Not sure how people think about getting into a new car, especially the same car when they still owe that much money on it, especially in these times. If theres really no problem with you car then just keep it. Find out if all the noises are actually being caused by something that needs to be fixed or not. Cars age and they do eventually squeak and rattle but that doesnt mean they are going to car heaven anytime soon.
