Genesis Coupe 2.0T Dyno

I decided to make a thread for this so people would see it, but mods if you want to marry it to the other Genesis Coupe thread and think its better off there do it.

Not to bad of numbers if you ask me and seems like there is much tuning potential outta this thing. I'm sure many are waiting for the R spec models to come out soon which are Track version but cheaper. Nice to see that the car is underrated too, the tq numbers are very nice. 197hp and 223 lb/ft of tq is not bad considering its rated at 210 and 227. I think even without touching the turbo you can get the car to very respectable numbers. May be adding this to my list of future cars to get in a year or two. I'll see how my parents santa fe is holding up and how these genesi are. If its fun to drive and you get decent mileage and your able to easily get some more power outta them, I'm game. 2.0T though, I personally wouldn't bother with the v6. If i was spending that kind of money id be better off with a 370z.

I got to sit in one of these this week end at the Auto Show in Atlanta. It looks better in person and the inside was actually pretty nice. I would like to drive the 4 and 6 back to back.

I'm with you on driving the 4 and 6 back to back. I would really have to feel the difference between the two before I made a decision. I own an Altima 2.5 right now at it is really slow if you ask me. It's rated at 175hp and 180ft/lbs tq. The Genesis would probably be in the same category as my Altima which to me is a great gas saver at over 30mpg's with a ton more comfort than my Focus.

My Focus hands down is a much more fun car to drive, especially around town. So far the only problem we've had with our other vehicle the Santa Fe is a loose battery cable wire. A year into paying it off and it's been extremely solid. Hyundai has come a long way in reliability.

Ok, lets hear the Hyundai haters now...

Another article said that more people were buying the v6 then the 4cly, besides the fact that 4clys on dealer lots seem to be scarce. But yes, people can b/c no one thinks about modding but a small percentage of people lol. But you would think most people buying into these are young tuners. I guess it just depends on how much money you have, if you have alot and then so to buy a v6 and then mod that i guess that would be the better way to go. No replacement for displacement as they say.

Here's the article...your going to cringe OJSVTguy when you read this lol
http://www.autoblog.com/2009/03/16/h...-are-simply-s/

"50% buy fully loaded v6 models" LOL....yea people can be dumber, they not only go with a v6 but they go with a fully load v6 which cost as much as a new 370z. Now if its a regular joe or jane buying it b/c its a sporty rwd coupe and has no plans on modding and is going to drive it around like a lump fine, but I can't see people who want a performance car 30k when they can get something better. Don't get me wrong I think the hyundai is awesome and a great bargain, just its a different story when you go spending as much as you possibly can off the lot.

But seriously a 2.0T Track or R with that killer 10 year 100k mile warranty...sounds good to me. Here's hoping hyundai is lenient with mods or will start producing some of their own that won't void the warranty.

Weigh?

2.0T: 3,294 - 3362
3.8 V6: 3389 - 3397

The R spec model I believe will come in at a little bit lighter.
