Unhappy No luck with this car

My first post... should have got rid of it then Ha, that was April 30th 2005!

Anyway, she's got 82,000 on her and today the check engine light comes on... It's been putting on the start ups bad lately. It's been putting when idleing lately. I think I should really start thinking about trading this puppy in... It's cool where I bought it from, they give you a free rental when you bring the car in for service (if you purchased the car there).

Going to make an appointment tomorrow for it. Bet it's the o2 sensor. Something that's not going to be covered under the CRAP extended warrenty

Other recent problems with my focus:
The truck gets wet (they said it was the selant around the rear lights...?)
Keeps turning over at the start-up for about three-five seconds before starting
Instrument panel lights (maybe just one) out at the a/c controls (know it's normal, but still sucks)
On left turns, there is a bad clunking sound (which has done it since day one. They say it's the sway bar that they "adjust" everytime I bring it in, I'll have that looked at tomorrow too).
That's it for now, that I can think of.
Oh- the armrest's latch doesn't work anymore either. I have a rubber-band holding it closed

geeze dude, thats some bad luck, you may have better luck w/ a different car, but at the same time it won't be a focus, so you'll have even more problems!! lol, jk, good luck car hunting if you do decide to sell it!

Clunking when doing left turn or more like when going over the bumps ? If so they you need to replace the links. Very inexpensive and easy to do yourself. Those do go out often.

It's when I make turns maybe 5mph or more. And yes, definitely more when there is a bump, it's way louder. Would the dealer just blow me off if I recommend that?

I feel your pain, my car has always had bad luck and now I feel like things just keep going wrong and wrong and as it gets older it'll just become more of a money pit. I love the freaking thing and it'll be sad to see it go, but once I get a full time job its gone. Hoping to be able to hold of for a year or two to see what new products come out, such as from Ford.

my sway bar end links broke too , i replaced them with heavy duty moog? ones. havent had an issue since.

its also easy to check , just turn your wheel all the way and reach your arm back there to see if its dangling.

Take it to a dealership and hit them with TSB#05-9-16. It's a Ford Technical Service Bulletin on how to fix the '05 hard start issue. They re-flash your ECU. It shouldn't cost you more than $89. Some dealerships will do it for no charge.

It's a shame that you've had bad luck with your Focus. I'd hate to see you have to get rid of it considering its rare and great color.

Update:
new arems for the hatch
new steering links
new coil ? (my stall/put problem)
That's covered under the "esp"

I guess they also found that one of my rear shocks is starting to leak, but is wear n tear, so they didn't fix that.

Do I keep dumping money into this thing? Or should I trade it in?
