What a day...

So I take my car to the shop today to have them clean the battery terminals... and they gave me a good discount for a oil change so I took it also.

After about an hour I get a call, telling me my car was done but they could not start it and get it out of the garage. They had tested the battery and that it was dead. (There goes the Birthday cash woo, right?)

So all in all I get to spend my money for my next mod on my battery!

What a fantastic day!

Anyone else have a, "Fantastic" day?

how to they clean your battery termainal?
they do it like oil change... so first you disconnect the battery.
then drain all the juice...
and got distracted by oil change.
oil change is done and forgot about puting the juice back the battery??

anyway go for the battery mod LOL

Why should you have to pay for it if it worked fine before you dropped it off. They messed with your battery and now it's dead, seems they did something wrong. And just curious, why would you take your car to a shop to have them clean the terminals? Steele wool or a wire brush is all they would have used and most people have one of the two laying around their house.

Lol, I wouldn't be surprised. Whatever, I have yet to replace the battery since I got the car in 05'/06' so I was guessing it was coming.

Edit...

What is the Battery MOD? or is it a joke? >.<

Well... its my guess that there was so much corrosion on the terminals and that it was so stuck to the battery that a connection was made. However, I knew the battery was not keeping its charge... because when I started the car it took forever and when it was cold out, it sometimes would not start. When idled at a light, stop sign or while parked she would sputter and almost stall.

Since I have seen this several times before with different cars... I figured best bet would be to replace it now before I actually get stranded somewhere that I can't get free from or late at night.

As for the corrosion... well I was told from a friend who use to work for a battery company that you "Should" have special tools and chemicals to clean it up because its a hazardous chemical. So I figured what's $10. Well, apparently $10 is a $90 battery... *sigh* lol

My buddy was hired by the city ot clean up an abandoned lot down on first street. He was driving along in his big front end loader when the front left wheel suddenly dropped. TUrns out that when they demoed the houses there in the early 60's, they decided to just cover this septic tank, still fully loaded, instead of remove it. So, here we are, 2009, and Dustin crashes through the 2 foot thick cement lid, stirring the aweful mixture, releasing the stench to the atmosphere.

It was the most aweful saturday night of my life. I threw up 2 times and was dry heaving for 3 hours.

OH MAN!

I don't dare say I had the worst day, I know plenty of people had worse.

And that shit... I love how people disregard the hidden things. On a septic tank, we don't have the money, just forget it.

Well just for "SHITS" and giggles... the other day at work, I get a phone call from one of the floor managers (mind you I work Security) and told me that it was raining in the womens shoes stock room. I ran down there and sure enough it was. Our store is three stories and shoes is on the first.

We have had a problem before like this, a few times. The problem... In an old building, when the pipes are old they back up fast. With a restroom on the third for customers, on second for the employees and the closed one on the first.

Well somewhere between the first and second floors, the pipes backed up and caused the sewage to back-up into the second floor bathroom. Now with two to three inches of built up waste on the floor, soaking into the carpet just outside and in the pipes... there is not many more places to go... except ... yup.. down.... sure enough its raining onto the shoes and the whole stock underneath. I had to seal the stock room off, shut down the water and maintain the employees. If word got out to customers... "shit would more than hit the floor, it would hit the fan also"

Now not to mention... a few employees who got almost soaked with black water, and the $80,000 + in Damage cost.... all they had to spend was about $10,000 or so to repair the problem and never again!

I know how you feel. I didn't throw up because I have smelled so much worse... but yea, I felt as I needed to shower for a week straight just to clean myself.

Lets hear everyone else?
