Opposed Piston Engine

Hey i was surfin the web and came across this.

http://engineeringtv.com/blogs/etv/a...er-engine.aspx

its a new engine design that some engineers came up with for the military, its quiet neat.

Interesting, a new twist on the old VW Beetle engine.

That's pretty cool!

I'd like to see a running prototype instead of a man-powered one!

very neat! I remember another post on here a while ago where someone talked about getting two pistons to oppose each other the increase compression and efficiency. Glad to see someone worked it out!!!

Chalk something else up that America will never see. Great concept tho, I would love to see it run. X2 on the rods.

It is 2 stroke. You'll never see it in a car, for production. It's a cool concept, but to me, its just more moving parts, that would leave more stuff to break.
