The Electric Focus Conversion Vehicle

On a whim I searched to see if this had been done - partly out of curiosity and partly because the SPI in our 2000 SE dropped a valve seat.

It's been done - The Electric Vehicle Focus Conversion - and fairly well documented too.

you won't see that done here, though it would definitely be a good project, and done for many good reasons.

LMAO

yes please may I add 1,500+ pounds to my car. Bet he didn't take that into account when sizing the motor.
I see he is from my neck of the woods though. I'll hide.

It was interesting to note that he states most EV conversions do exceed the GWVR. I agree he probably had a few good reasons to tinker with the conversion.

Number one most likely being that the SPI engine in his 2001 SE dropped a valve seat (have to admit I did not read the entire article) - and the body looks to be in excellent shape as probably is the rest of the car.

I found almost half of the #4 intake valve seat in its intake on our car. Engine stripped - ready to be pulled....
