New Project hint..351w inside

I recently acquired a 89 crown vic police interceptor. It has the 5.8L windsor in it. It's a new project that I plan to build. I will get some pictures up soon. I got it for dirt cheap and it only has one spot of body rot behind the right rear wheel. Starts up every time, has a nice grumble when you put it in gear. I don't know much in the aftermarket world of 351's so I was hoping I could get a ford guy to tell me what would be the best way to squeeze some more grunt out of the motor. Suggestions welcomed

How many miles on that thing?
there aren't a lot of options for that 351W with an automatic tranny last I looked.
I think for your money, you'd be better of taking the 351w out and slapping in a nice 5.0.

I'm going to move this to the Ford Focus and general car chat area, you'll get better responces there.

Noooooo!!

351 and 302 are both Small Block Fords (SBF). Pretty much the whole top end interchanges. So most of what works for a 302 will work for a 351, cams are specif because of the bearing size. Other than that go to town.
Plus there is a lot of grassroots tuning for the EEC-IV, A9L being the most popular.

The best thing to do is go to the magazine rack and pick up a Muscle Mustang Fast Ford Magazine and see all of the ads out there for the 351w motors, or also know as the 5.8 engines. When I had mu Mustang there was a ton of aftermarket stuff out there.
