Mazdaspeed 6 or Legacy Spec B

Would like input from a community I trust!

I am selling two of my Foci and want to get either a Mazdaspeed6 or a Subaru Legacy GT Spec B.

These are very similar cars as far as AWD turbo 4 bangers, with 6-speed gearboxes and they include all the goodies!

If you have any info on them let me know what you think.

The subi has a 2.5 boxer engine thats rated for right around 250hp, the mazda is a 2.3 turbo 4 cylinder and I believe rated a little higher hp. Both great looking cars, the 07 Spec B I am looking at is 1 of 452 ever made in 07, not sure about the speed6 as far as production.

I know there are members here who have either a subi or a mazda, please chime in. Need a little more of a family car but still want something I can have fun with.

Spec B FTW. Subaru knows AWD, the spec B gets the drivetrain from an STI, minus the front limited slip. Mazda makes a fast car, but I've driven the Mazdaspeed6, and I wasn't a fan of the clutch. It was really abrupt. Subaru, FTW.

I didn't like how bouncy the Speed6's suspension is

The Legacy GT however was a BALLER car, especially in wagon trim

Ohh man thats a hard choice I'm seriously having trouble deciding on what I ant to vote for. I want a speed6 myself. But always thought the subie would be out of my price range. ah man what a hard choice. I'd probably lean both ways dang it I can't decide. If purely by awd system then I would lean towards the subie due to that fact it can give you a more rwd biased handling.

Go for the Subie. If you get the Mazda then Focus guys will just ask you for your transmission so they can do an awd conversion.

I'm biased a bit, but definitely the spec B. Speed6 was a sweet car but had some serious torque steer issues and was a little "rougher around the edges" than the Legacy is.

The spec B has never sold well, and in 07 was made to be a regular production car. We sell far more regular Legacy GTs, which to me are a better value (as I hate our Navi system). If you are looking used, you can pick up a clean GT Ltd for far less, and spend a few bucks on the suspension and still be ahead dollar wise. Just food for thought.

Also egbertnr....PM me the last 8 characters of the VIN for the spec B. I'll do a vehicle inquiry and repair/warranty claim check for you and let you know if there's been any serious issues or work done on the car.
