new, Castrol Edge motor oil

so it was that time again, to change the oil. i was in the auto store and i saw the Castrol Edge, it was in its own area and had all the signs hanging off it you know all the typical, buy it now its better BS. the biggest selling point it had was it has 8x more ware protection then mobile 1(yah, sure it does) ive tried royal purple and i use mobile 1. so i figured what the hell, bought 5 quarts and a K&N filter.

well... i must say, this is the first time i have actually felt a difference in the engines performance from an oil change. yes yes i know the placebo effect. i changed the oil last week and even today i feel it running better. the engine runs smoother and its definitely got more power. im not saying change the oil and bam 20 whp, just saying its got more pep.

i do have a low compression issue on cylinders 2-3, may be this oil is sealing up the rings better, i dont know. all i know is ill be putting Castrol Edge in my svt from now on.

Is it a true synthetic like German Castrol (which I use), or is it a "synthetic" like Syntec? Anyone know?
