New to Forum--Need Some Help Please !

Hello Everyone : I am considering the purchase of a used Ford Focus and I need some advice. Here's the deal :
Frankies in Memphis, Tn. (www.frankiescars.com) has two '03 models, one is a ZTS and the other is a(n) SE. The SE only has 55,000 miles and the ZTS has 76,000 miles on the meter. Both appear to be in excellent condition, but I have not seen them (except on the internet) because I am 200 miles away.
They appear to have different engines and both are automatic, which is great !

They are asking $6,985 for each. Are these vehicles worth this kind of cash and could someone advise me as to what what I should do ? I am driving a borrowed Toyota Sienna at the moment (which belongs to my parents) and I need to find a vehicle very soon !

well if im not mistaken, the zts has the zetec motor and the se has the weaker spi motor. my focus has a zetec with over 81k and its doin fine. no problems or issues with it. im not sure if they are worth almost 7k though. look up the kelly blue book value and see what that says.

French's, Those two seem high-priced to me.
I've always been a bit leery of independent used car dealers. I've been burned before. Speaking in generalities, this type of dealer usually buys at auction the 'second tier' vehicles - those that a New Car dealer franchise passes up. I noticed that Frankies has a lot of high-mile vehicles.
.
I think you can do much better than those two.

I did a search for Focus's less than $7,000 within 100 miles of Nashville. Found this:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...standard=false

Has lots lower miles that the two at Frankies. ( It's a manual trans though )
