Exclamation I hit a curb..$$$???

Hey, I was driving home tonight and I was about 2 blocks from home when I hit a curb going about 15mph. It had started snowing a couple hours before and I was driving safe and slow the entire way home, then round the last little curve in the road before I got home, my car decided to not turn. I was going maybe 20mph and by the time I got to the curb I had slowed to at least 15 or less but I hit the brakes and downshifted and tried to drive out of it but to no avail. I managed to get it down the little hill and in my driveway but now my right front tire is a little bent to the right when my left one is point straight ahead.

It kinda looks like this:

Its not quite that far out, I just suck at paint...but I was wondering if I could get an alignment and it would be okay or if its probably something else that got bent. I don't know that much about cars, my dad said it might be a bent transaxle....so I don't know. Anyways any help with this and if anyone could guess how much it could cost to fix I would appreciate any help I can get.

Thanks.

Oh and I was able to drive it home like I said, and it pulled to the right but it was still drivable.

Most likely you bent a controll arm or maybe a strut. It should be a fairly easy reapair. I doubt there is any damage to the transaxle
Best of Luck

You can't bend the transaxle.. You probably bent a tie rod. Decently easy to replace but you will need an alignment afterwards as it controls toe which is what makes that tire swing in or out. In your situation it probably got bent inwards causing the tire to toe out like that.

WHAT? What are you doing hitting curbs? You've got other things to take care besides your car you know. Oops, sound like your dad now don't I.

Man, sorry to hear that but if it makes you feel any better I snagged a curb a couple of months ago so bad that I ripped a hole in the side wall of my Pirelli. But I did find out that my low tire pressure sensors work; that light came on real quick.

Hope it's nothing serious my friend,
Brad
