Ford Says Goodbye to the Focus 4-spd Slush Box

Here's some of the best news coming out of Ford: 2010 Ford Focus production will have the PowerShift Transmission. It will provide most of the fuel efficiency and control advantages of a stick with the convenience of an automatic. This is big!

And if they also got us that new 1.6L EcoBoost engine too? Yeah!!!!

Great. I just hope they don't use it as an excuse to eliminate manual trannies.

I've been saying it since the first ones of its kind came out. Eventually manual trans will be a thing of the past. But that probably won't happen till we have autopilot cars...obviously. Anyway, THANK GOD THE 4SP TRANS THEY HAVE NOW SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm not a fan of autos personally, but those PowerShift/DSG/whatever you want to call it Transmissions will shift faster than any human could with a normal manual tranny.

It will, idk how badly your gas mileage will be effected though. Well I guess it doesnt matter, the tune with aggressive auto shift only aggressively shift at WOT, regular driving itll shift in normal try to get the best mileage mode.
