Ford Extended Service Plan....worth it?

The basic warranty on my '06 will run out in April.....I have an opportunity to buy the ESP. I'm wondering if it's worth it (don't know the cost).

My car is automatic, air, full power......but that's about it. No ABS, no sun-roof-no heated seats, no side air-bags-etc. I have never had an extended plan on any car I've owned. But this Focus is the most expensive car I've ever bought. And after reading many of the posts here, it seems this is not the most reliable car around.

So....would an ESP be worth it? Keep in mind I can fix most problems myself. So I would be saving the cost of the parts only on most failures. Do these plans have a deductible?

I do know that Ford makes money selling the plans....otherwise they wouldn't do it. Opinions?

yes, they have a deductible. i have the premium care, and its a 100-dollar deductible on each thing. but nice to have if the clutch goes. the atx can go on these too. covers suspension too.

now if you haven't had any problems by now most other occurrences will be basic maintenance and can be prevented a lot of the time. Now if you get it from a dealer the will make a commotion and a lot of the times they will try to dick you out of you warranty if you don't pay top dollar for the bet warranty and even at that if you don't preform preventive maintenance and have proof they will get you.

my dad had an f250 W/ the gas V8 haled no less then 1ton a day and trow a rod
he got an extended warranty they would not honer it because we where missing a few recite on oil changes. and told us that we would have to pay full price to get it fixed.
