Installed focus parts in a X-Type Jag (Laughs)

ok my sis called me on the phone again and told me that theres a check engine on her 03 X-Type jag

she comes over I OBDII it and comes back
P0831
Clutch Pedal Switch "A" Circuit Low

im like uhhh wtf this cars a Auto

enyways I crawl under the dash and immediately noticed that the brake switch's on her car look awfully familiar

I pull them off go down and run the part number
Brake Light switch - Comes back as a Focus/Contour/Jag part
Clutch switch - Comes back as the same Focus/Contour and Jag part

I grab the brake switch set that I'm selling and pull them out and in shear aww I'm staring at identical switch's the only difference is one Jag Embossed the other is Ford Embossed

heres the switch's I was selling

and heres the ones I pulled off her car

yeah they're definitely in the family.......

these are some parts of posts I pulled off a site in which I've been reading up on

Quote:
1999-2003 3.0L DOHC Duratec Engines only from the following vehicles swap with fairly little work.

Ford Taurus
Mercury Sable
Ford Escape
Mazda Tribute

1999-2003 3.0L DOHC Duratec Engines only from the following vehicles swap with some extra customizations needed

Lincoln LS
Jaguar S-Type
Mazda 6
and

Quote:
3.0L Jaguar X-type is also a duratec.

The Jaguar engines, Mazda 6 engine and Lincoln LS engines all use Variable valve timing which would be practically impossible to adapt over to the Contour/Cougar platform without bringing over all the electronics from that car. The variable valve timing is one reason why these engines have more power than the normal 3.0L's. It might be possible to use the blocks but then you might as well use the Tuarus/Sable/Escape engine because your just paying more for the name if you get the jaguar/LS/6 block.
haha just for the record

but my whole point in that was, that all those above mentioned vehicles have enough in common to swap (in this case, a cougar ) so those vehicles from the same years are going to have the same parts as well. oh that and ford used to own jaguar at some point

It's not just the family common thread. Remember Ford does not make electronics, they buy from a supplier in large quantities. other companies I'm sure are buying from the same suppliers Ford is.
Denso is a god example of this. Many cars have parts from them and many time those parts interchange.
