The best thing I bought when drunk XD

about a week ago i got myself wasted just after the accident, and i guess i ended up buying all sorts of stuff online well this arrived and i tell ya its the best thing I bought that night.. its already paid for itself 10 fold

I paid $64.99 for it

My sis X-Type Jag got a check engine $300 (diagnostic/shop fees) later they say she needs about $2000 in repairs she said forget it it still runs
They said she needed a full engine harness to fix it

well i plug in the reader and pull 6 locked codes 3 pending (2 pending are manufacturer specific they set themselves.. well i look up the codes and shows the cars running lean, go google it and within 1 min I find the cause and a picture its a cracked IMT pipe (intake Manifold Tube)
the pipe is a ridged one so I grab my Pipe repair kit patch the crack let it set for an hour and start it hey look NO check engine

Yes I know theres a bag over the reader, I see it this way a 15 cent bag 2 cents in tape I can keep my reader clean and prevent grease, water and other crap from damaging it

as mentioned it scanned the 03 Jag and pulled manufacturers specific, I used it on my Smashed 01 fofo wagon and pulled all the codes got it started it and the check engines gone, used it on my neighbours 02 VW Diesel golf found a lazy 02 fixed it and reset the airbag/checkengine on an 98 acura XD

this scanner is CAN ready (Controlled area network) which some newer fords require

* Works on all 1996 & newer OBD2 Compliant Vehicles.
* "Plug & Play" Interface. Connects to the vehicle and shows all necessary data in 15 seconds or less - no set up required.
* Patented Single-Screen Display -- Patented all-in-one display shows 19 vital pieces of information, including diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs), pending codes, emissions monitor status and more (U.S. Patent #6,687,584).
* C.A.N. (Controller Area Network) Coverage. C.A.N. will be mandatory on all vehicles in 2008. It is the fastest way yet for OBD2 vehicles to speak with their computerized systems.
* Erases Codes. Lets the user turn off the "Check Engine" light, clear codes and reset monitors.
* Booklet and CD. Includes manual with DTC definitions in English, French & Spanish. Support. Includes free Understanding OBD2 video and support by all ASE Certified Technicians via toll-free phone line or Internet.
* System Status LEDs. Color-coded LEDs show quick emissions readiness status. This is great to use before getting an annual emissions "smog" check, buying a used car or taking a long road trip.
