What happen to global warming?!

I would have to say, with temperatures well below the zero mark, even before wind chill factors have been taken into accound, my little focus is doing great!

We were all talking in class today about how many people are having troubles with their cars due to the frigid temperatures. I think it's pretty funny that they are all giving me crap for driving the car I do, when their cars aren't starting, stalling and running like shiz!

Man do I love my focus!

The tree-huggers will tell you that "global warming" actually means "global climate change". Which translates into increasing temperature extremes, both higher summer temps, and lower winter temps. What they fail at is proof that man/cars/etc. has anything to do with the change. We've had climate changes since the beginning of time on this planet.

Predictions for tomorrow in St Louis.....record lows, maybe -15/20. Wonder if my Focus will start? My old Datsun 510 started at -12 one morning without a block heater or anything.

haha, now thats funny!!!^^^ Global Warming does exist, (I'm an environmental engineer, not a tree hugger) but not even close to the way the media portrays it. The polar Ice caps have about 3 mm of moving water underneath them, The Carbon footprint has gone up over 100x since the 1500's, the amount of people on this earth seems to be increasing exponentially. At this rate, we should start to see higher AVERAGE temps accross the planet in about 50-75 years. and even then, we're talking no more than 5 degrees. but the problem lies w/in our water, this will raise the temperature enough to have a steady melt of the polar ice caps. Oceanic levels will rise, once agian, not by 100's of feet, but by a foot or 2. This will directly affect the jet stream and we will be in some seriously nasty winter. There will be alot more hurricanes. This will all prolly happen w/in the next 3-4 hundred years. People always say that OMG, we are gonna roast to death in 5 years!! not true. Global warming has always been around, but it comes and goes in cycles regardless of human activity, all we are doing is to help speed up the process and giving it a little more potency!!
