'05-'06 Ford Expedition

So, it's about time to retire the good old Dodge Grand Caravan(she was a good one). My wife and I have put the '05-'06 Ford Expedition on the list. Does any FF member own one of these? Mainly we have 3 small children and need the extra space, but we're worried about getting into the back row, kinda needs to easy for them. I haven't seen one in person yet, and I hope the middle row seats move forward enough to allow room for the kiddos. Please let me know some info if ya have one. Thanks!

um...... I believe you're gonna have a fun time changing the spark plugs if that ever comes... (correct me if I'm wrong though, I may be thinking of the excursion and not the expedition) they're pretty big though, and I'd say your kids would be doing a very very small climbing trip... not too bad though, from what I can remember. Depressing though, that they have now discontinued this vehicle.....

Their a steal right now, kinda pick of the litter. We're looking for 35,000- 45,000 miles and the price is $13500-$15500 here in Cincy. She's picked out about a dozen diffrent ones. The big factor is our Grand Caravan get on a average 17mph in town, and according to other owner forums like this they get around 14mph w/ 5.4L so we figure what every for a nice SUV that can also pull two horse trailor.

^^That's what I was thinkling also, so we (wife and I) acctually didi the numbers, and that's roughly what we came up with. Also MSN Auto gave it 18/24mpg, http://autos.msn.com/research/vip/sp...avan&trimid=-1so I guess our math was close.

Okay, please don't laugh or pick too much. My work with the focus is 3 mile total round trip 5 days a week. (yes, I do ride a bike in the summer) So (the kicker) I fill up every 6-7 weeks, last fill up was $23.50. And my wife works part time at the local YMCA which is 6 miles, 7days a week. And we fill up the mini van once a month. (again don't pick) We budget roughly $75-85 buck per month. This is probley the only reason we're going this gas-effecient with the expy.

Consider the Dodge Journey as well that's a great car and reasonablely equiped coule come out to be about 25,000 BRAND NEW. The Flex is also a great consideration.

Last I checked you didn't need a big SUV for 3 kids -- they fit fine in the trunk of a hatch.
