Needing advice - sold seats, awaiting pickup 5 months - buyer wants $$ back?

I need some advice - I'm too ticked right now to think straight.

I sold my Corbeau seats 5 months ago and the buyer paid for them, but begged me to hold them until he could pick them up. First it was a friend who was going to pick them up, then his wife, then it would be October before he could get them. Now he says he can't get them and wants a refund.

What should I do? The money is long gone.

Tell him he can't have a refund.
You have no legal requirement to give him his money back.
The sale is complete. The seats will be waiting for him.

If you want to give him his money back, tell him he can have it after you find a new buyer.

Tell him NO!!!! He bought them so there his. thats what I would say if it were me. Also I would have him meet you at a neutral place like a parking lot where there will be plenty of witnesses in case something happens.

He is legally bound by contract as long as you and the other party came to an agreement on the price.

And if it had been me, I would have come up with some kind of storage fee to charge him as well. But I'm a rat bastard that way. :-p

Your not required by any law to refund his money, b/c he changed his mind.

if you do have a soft spot and decide to refund his money, only give him like 60% of it back, the rest being a non-refundable deposit or storage fee or something. that way u get some money and the seats

Well, I came down on the price because I wouldn't have to ship.

I offered to ship the easy way (UPS store does it all - prolly $200) or when I get time I will list them again - when they sell I send him half. I still don't like it tho - what a pain.

Thanks for the advice guys.
