Questions on Used 2.3l

Well it's official the yellow Foci is going away indefinantly and I'm currently scrambling to find a new car. A family friend own a damn huge auto/scrap yard so I decided to have a look on their website. To my surprise I came upon 2004 2.3l Sedan with 98k on it. It's cheap, but it's a salvage title and either has, or has had undercarriage damage.

Now, my questions..

What could undercarrige damage consist of and how much cash could I invest in fixing it?

Can anyone with CARFAX run a VIN for me? 1FAFP38Z24W104119

Any thing to check for?

The hood and grille clearly has some damage/fitment issues, but the bumper and fenders look fine. What could this be from??

I will be calling the yard later today.

Thanks for any and all help.
I'll get some pics of her up later.

In those circumstances, 'undercarriage' usually means major suspension damage. The panel gap problems with the hood could also mean the front frame rails are out of position as well. If you can post the photos or provide a link, I can let you know more. (What yard is it at? I've got on-line access to a couple of nation-wide biggies.)
