CAI problems

A while back, I installed a CAI on my ZX4. I was impressed with it and like it. However, the "check engine" light would come on. I would unplug the battery and it back up about 10 minutes later and the light would be gone. Once I drove for about 20 minutes the light would pop back on. My first thing I did was checked the mass air flow sensor. It was in correctly fitting snug with not leaks and also facing the right direction. I just decided to take it off. I put my stock intake back on and havn't had a single problem since than.

Is there something that I overlooked or is this a common problem?

you had to have had a leak somewhere. make sure all clamps are secure with overtightening. doublecheck the direction of the MAF and its connection.
an aftermarket intake WILL NOT cause these problems. these issues are normally present due to an error whilst installing.
