Good Deal??

So been looking for another car and found this:

http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/for...d&distance=100

I wanted a truck/suv but just not sure with gas prices and all, btw this would replace my taurus. Carfax says its from hawaii, is this anything to be concerned about, (i don't think it is)

I think maybe its a little overpriced, i like other than the wheels.
what do you guys think yay, or nay.

not speaking from personal experience, as i dont live near an ocean, but from what ive read people that live near oceans complain of the salt. i guess that speeds up the rusting process or something. maybe the air going into the engine is harder on it? not really sure but im sure someone on here could help you.

as for the price i think thats about average. mine is older than that and i only gave 6k for it. best of luck to you in whatever you choose

That seems like a pretty good price. Have you seen it in person yet or driven it? Shiny black paint can look real nice in those auto site pictures.

I know it definitely is hard on the paint. When I lived real close to the ocean, I could wash my car and it'd have a film on it later in the day! Not to mention how hard the water was there too. But I was just back out there and realized that none of the cars have rust out there. I saw an old CRX cruise by and in KS they usually are rust buckets, but this thing was stock all original and in bad ass condition.

I think that's one awesome looking focus

yeah, i think ocean salt is not as bad as salt from snow, only because it really only gets on top and not on the bottom like from snow....i could be wrong.
have not seen it in person, might go check it out this weekend. I do now that its been listed for at least a month, so I think 12k or less its reasonable

Generally, the Pacific Ocean breezes are mild. The salt air only affects cars that are continually parked within say a mile or two of the shore. Take a look at old cars around here - you'll see some surface rust, but very little rust-through like the east coast climates.
