Zetec VLC Engines????!!!

hey guys today i went to a junked car lot, and i was looking for parts for my FOFO and i found some goodies, i founf 2 covers; a silver one and a black one: also i just bought an engine from a focus 2007 zetec with only 15,000miles !!!!! and i will replace on my FOFO zx3 is this possible??? to put a zetec engine from a ST on my ZX3???? if its not possible i will sell it.

also i followed looking for more FOFO's and i saw a CONTOUR with a ZETEC VLC engine is this right ???? or its just the cover???? i did'nt hear bout this engines it has a spark plug wires cover already on it !!! so if a change my engine for the one from the ST 2007 can i change the cover form the CONTOUR to the ZETEC????

You really should've posted this in the Engine and Transmission swap forum. FYI, if you're swapping from one engine to another, you really should get the whole car regardless of the shape it's in. Here's a few things you're going to need that you don't have:

Transmission: Zetec and Duratec do not have the same bolt pattern.
Wiring harness: The Duratec is positioned differently in the engine compartment, as well as having coil on plug ignition- so completely different wiring harness.
Computer: Oh yeah, different.

Luckily for you the engine mounts do work out the same.

thanks for answer but the thing is; the engine i bought is a ZETEC engine so i can change it with no extras or should i sell it or return it to the lot???

if it came out of an ST or a 2007 it is NOT a Zetec, they ceased production with the 2004 model

you need most likely need that car's computer regardless but possibly not

uuuuu so it means its not a zetec??? but the cover says ZETEC , well anyways im going tomorro one more time to take this doubt out of my head.

its NOT the zetec if it came out of an 05+ as warneej said the zetec was no longer made after 04, the only way the valve cover would say zetec is if the previous owner put it there.

if you wanna swap in the duratec which is in ALL focus 05+ you need everything that goes with it, pretty much the only thing the same between the 2 engines is the motor mounts
