I saw something about these a while back. They are being built and used in India. The ones that I saw could only hit 70 mph. But they filled up for about 2 bucks a day on 100 miles. It uses compressed air and you just fill the tanks when you need to. Clever idea, but don't see it as a reality

I wonder, Yah I know it runs on compressed air and stuff but it would be quite funny if it were fueled with air resistance while in motion; that way you can never run out of air .....EVER.... *LOL*; It was just an outragous thought.

actually TATA motors makes this. (the company that bought Jag and Landrover from Ford) its actually big enough to fit 3 people across. They have two versions; one that runs on just air, and one that runs on air and gas (the gas engine refills the air tank while you drive)

The other air car / engine I had read about (guy from IL IIRC) used highly compressed air to power the car. IIRC there was something like 1,200PSI stored in the air tanks.

I honestly would not feel safe with that much pressure below me. I have seen what just 120PSI is capable of and I can't imagine what 10 times that could do.

Have you ever asked why you would need to refill the air tank?
Couldn't you just make it a closed system and use a valve of some sort that bleeds the pressure from one cylinder to the other (one goes up the other goes down, inertia brings it back up), or better yet use a rotary design but apply the same concept.

Neat idea, I'll give it that. But it seems that things are always made to break or not function to the highest ability that man should be achieving. It's always like we are cutting corners and half-assing things.
