2008 Focus owners - Come on in.

I'm trying to find out what type of fuel economy everyone is getting with their 08s. Also list if you have an auto or manual trans please.

I get 30 in the city and anywhere from 40-49 on the highway. I have a 5-speed and I drive to maximize fuel economy. I get 40 when I run 70 mph with the air on, and closer to 50 when I do 60 with no A/C on long trips.

I have an Automatic and I have seen 52mpg w/ Cruise Control and the wind at my back, but with the way I drive I usually get about 23 city and posisbly 30-34 highway (Haven't driven her very far on a highway yet)

I just came to check this board because my gas mileage is terrible.. I get about 10 L/100 km which is about 23 mpg and that is 99% city driving.

I have a 5 speed SE and I drive very light as well as shut off the engine at lights.

That seems a lot higher than the EPA estimates and I'm not sure what's wrong. The car has less than 900 km's on it.

I do about 37.5 on the highway running about 73mph. Most of mine is highway, so I don't get the opportunity to check city driving.
Mine is a manual trans.

I was very shocked to see the fuel economy these cars put out. I have 3000 miles and I've been averaging 39mpg each tank with a mix of 65% highway and 35% city. I'm sporting a manual and also drive to maximize fuel economy.

Iíve had my 08 since July 13th and have about 6,800 miles on it. I have an automatic and drive about 165 miles per day, most on the highway between 75 and 80 MPH. IĎve gotten between 32 and 37 depending on the traffic I hit near the city. I find that if I can keep it above 75 it doesnít shift out of overdrive to go up the hills. I donít drive specifically to save gas but I donít drive like a madman either. Iím just keeping up with traffic on my daily drive from the Shenandoah Valley to downtown DC.
