a long tube header setup will benefit you best.

you're gonna get the best HP gains with it...

its just good stuff....

you'll prolly need a new catalytic converter and flex pipe.

i recommend random tech hi-flow cats.

There are no short tube headers made for the d-tec. The only two in production are made by F2 and OBX.

w/ a long tube, you wont have a cat unless the duratec is set up completely different from the zetec. Doesn't the duratec go Exhaust Manifold, catalytic converter, flex, exhaust?

The Duratec setup is basically the mani-cat which is the manifold with a cat attached. After the cat is the flex pipe which is also attached to the mani-cat. Then the exhaust flange and the second cat. Down wind of that is the first muffler and then the second lunchbox muffler. If you have the ST you only have the first muffler. So by getting a header you eliminate the first cat but still have the second one IF you got a true cat-back exhaust system. Most sold are flex back systems which eliminate the second cat. Make sense?

Ya, I know how a double cat system works, just didn't know the Duratec had 2 cats, the zetec doesn't. Also, w/ the extra load on the second cat, wouldn't that use the catalyst faster and blow out the cat really quick?

Yes only because the rear o2 sensor would sense that the cat was bad. IE not enough heat coming into it so it thinks the cat is bad. Doesn't effect performance at all as this is the job of the sensor before the cat.
