engine swap jealousy

i wish we could just swap in engines like hondas. you can get a 200hp H22A with ECU, clutch, transmission, mounts, everything for like $2500. and then upgrade that and you'd have a really fast car.

Not all swaps are as easy as you think for hondas. An easier swap would be a B20 coverted for high rpm vtec duty. I personaly was thinking bout wheni was shopping for a used car before my mom gave me the go ahead for a new one. The B20 is a lot easier to get than an H22 because its out of the CRV. What ever focus fanatic web page rambling sbotu honda.

If I was going to do a honda engine swap I would stick with a B-series engine.

B18C would be just fine with me...even a B16A is powerful when put in a CRX.

yes, the b18s and b16s are great engines, i was just talking about the ol' H22A which is like the mother of all swaps, for many cars at least. most really fast hondas are running off H22s, but the B16s have a meassive aftermarket, one of the best of all time.

How about the Japanese spec prelude engine... I believe it's called the B20 if I'm not mistaken.

That's running 200hp....and I've seen one crammed into the engine bay of a 95' civic hatch :)

Is my post invisible ?

I went over the B20 the fact the H22 a isnt the cheapest and not really best swap out there because parts are not readily avaliabel as the B series teh b20 gets eitehr a b18 or b16 head , the b18 is a higher flow head stock, but the b16 is the basis for the type R head. The prelude in japan is also an H22 which is the basis for the f series (if i remember right) which is the 250 hp s2000 motor

Haha, sorry man, missed that part of your post.

And, if you want to be technical, the S2000 is 240hp

Either way its slow, looks really nice though, my ricer friends' buddy is gonna blow one up soon, threw a turbo on there with just a thicker head gasket to lower the compression.

Oh and my buddy with a B16 swap with type R intake manifold and tb header and is desperately in need of his exhaust got his ass handed to him by like 4 cars lengths to the same model civic with a VTEC B20 swap.

The S2000 slow?

I believe the stock #'s, as tested by Motor Trend, is 0-60 in 5.5

That's pretty damn quick, especially stock.
