Which engine do I have? I'm assuming the Zetec and not the Duratec. Help!

I have just recently purchased a White 2006 Focus ZX3 Hatchback and know nothing about this kind of car. It was kind of a last resort due to my other "grandma car" crapping out on me. I am really growing fond of my little car but it needs some new toys to put on it. How do i figure out what kind of engine it is(Duratec or Zetec?)? It says a 2.0L but is that strictly for the ZX3 or what. Just need help with this. I would like to add 18"rims, exhaust and get the windows 15% within the next couple months.

Thanks
-Jason

How do you acutally find out though. Is it strictly for that year or what. I couldn't find it anywhere on the car and am not very intelligent when it comes to cars. I think i'm gonna need a lot of help when it comes to this car. lol

ya, they stopped using the zetec motors w/ the old body style car, since you have the new body style, well, its not the new anymore as the redesigned 08 is out, you have a duratec

header in front = zetec
air intake in front = duratec

when you start looking for rims the bolt pattern on the focus is 4X108, if you wanna go with 18" they will look hott but you will need a really low profile tire and they wont ride as good as a 17" rim, and you will have many more rim options in 17's with the weird bolt pattern.

Happy Modding!

Duratec...

D20 and D23 are how they are designated-2.0L and 2.3L

Zetec...

Also 2.0L but it says "Zetec" on the valve cover.
And COP=coil on plug.

Thanks...

This has been a useful thread for someone shopping for a 2003 or 2004 Focus. Manytimes, a listing won't say which engine is in place. (Auototrader.com doesn't list engine size and doesn't respond to a search for 2.3L! grrrr....) I can now direct the seller to this thread, where he or she can learn how to find the answer quickly.
