(should be in duratec forum, but your new, so we'll forgive you this time)
One thing i suggest is do exhaust before you do an intake otherwise youll be sucking in more air than the car can spit out. Lowering is a must as the focus sits high. About the chip, there is no chip for the duratec, you will need to order a flasher. im not an expert on that, so il let someone else take over!! WElcome to FF

first off welcome to FF!!

sooo you want to beef up your 2.3 huh?? well I guess i could get you started.

exhausts.

the site provided has diff. selections. make sure it will fit accordingly to your exhaust exit. Example... rear center. Rear right. or Rear left.

http://www.mcnewsautomotive.com/cate...?categoryID=34

Intakes...

if u want to have some get up in your 2.3 ill give you 4 options
(assuming you don't have alot of knowledge about each ill give the bone head answers lol the stuff that i know of them.)

#1 Turbo
Spools up from car's exhaust and more power generated at higher rpm.
reason why turbo cars rev. their engine until they dump the clutch its called "spooling"

#2 Supercharger
Power that is already there!!! no spooling up! but at a cost. it is connected to your acc. belt on your engine. thus more engine stress (either turbo or SC still stress your engine)

#3 CAI (Cold Air Intake)
more HP than SRI and is considerably cheap (less throttle response than a SRI)

#4 SRI (Short Ram Intake) Someone correct me if im wrong but i think the SRI gives more low end torque. i cant quite remember.. best bet if u get alot of rain, incase u hydro lock your engine with a CAI.

Computer Programming
here is a link to some programmers. http://focus.c-f-m.com/index.asp?Pag...&Category=1386

ahhh almost forgot
to lowering it. im thinking this might work but its only for 2002-2004 so idk u would have to talk to some others who know alot more about them. but im pretty sure they would fit if ur driving a zx3

Ugh, don't go giving the noob false information.

For one he does not have a 2.3L so dont start ordering a bunch of mods for a 2.3L shady lol. You have the 2.0L duratec engine in your car, its similar to the 2.3L but not the same. Check out the duratec section of the forum for detailed info on you engine. Theres a list of FF affiliates on the site most of which are all great companys to buy mods from. Steeda, Focus Sport, CFM, McNewsautomotive, Ford Racing etc are all good companys to buy from. Also northcoastperformance. But yea, no chips, just tuners and reflashes of the ecu. For a good intake look at Focus Sport, they make one of the best ones for the duratec engines. For a drop your best bet is either Ford racing or eibach.

Search the forum there is so much information about this stuff.

Where in NC are you? If you look in our regional forum, we've got a couple of meets coming up soon, one might be close to you. Ask around in there and I'm sure you'll find some local Fanatics willing to lend a hand or some guidance.
