Well, what do you mean by custom??? Be more specific. Do you mean your going to make your own tubing and bend it? Or do you mean your going to rig up some dryer hose to the bottom of you air box and run to to the ground????

To answer your question about water, just put a sponge at the end of the pipe and you should be good. No I'm joking. There is a few ways, which I'll discuss here in about 3 seconds. . .
1.Don't put the filter that low.
2.Build a shield or box to reduce splashing.
3.Get a diaphram from AEM or similar company.
4.Buy a pre-filter A.K.A. filter condom A.K.A. dry-charger -I have an Outerwears one.
5.Don't drive through big puddles.
6.Don't use a CAI.
Did I get em all.

I'd honestly just copy a brand name intake and then make a shield. They think of these things and test them. Just put a bend at the end upwards.

they alll end up going where the rain goes. there are things called pre filters. they keep water out but let air in.
i know you prob dont have that deep of pockets ( cause you were looking for free mods a few days ago, lol) i would reccomend the svt intake, it has the same gains as the 300.00 volant intake and it looks stock. i know the snorkel from massive is like 25 bucks and then all you need is the box, maybe from a junkyard or something

love the OOOOUUUUHHHHH sound? remove the silencer from the side of the airbox and add a K&N Panel filter. these 2 mods to a stock SVT intake setup, and you will outflow everything in the aftermarket
