Lightbulb Better Exhaust = Better Mileage

Hi guys, first post. Great Forum. So i was wondering is there any truth around about having a better exhaust system gives better gas mileage. I always thought that the easier the engine was able to expulse used gases, less load the engine needed to run, that would equal less gasoline usage. Just wondering because i don't have any mods yet, but i'm in the market to buy a complete exhast system ( headers, flexpipe and catback). Any info would be greatly appreciated. I'm from Puerto Rico and almost everybody down here are ricers. Help me prove that you don't need and import to look and run great....!!!!!!! Thanxs.....

the increases are neglegable, and of course there is the problem of a heavier foot due to new exhaust tone and power!

w/ a better breathing system, you can see gains, w/ a wider dia. exhaust, you lower low end hp and torque, in return, you gain better gas mileage down low and worse gas mileage up top, if you shift at low rpm, you will be just fine and see maybe 1-2 mpg better.
