Engine Seeze Engine Gone

Well i was driving with my friend and i was going like 80 on a 35 out of nowhere i hit a dip. I messed up my oil filter so all my oil leeked out and i thought it was my radiator and I was close to my house so i thought i could make it right when i got in front of my house my engine just stalled. When i got my a mechanic to look at it he told me my engine is gone it would be cheaper to get a new or used engine that sucks so now i still have to pay off my car and save until i can fix the engine so he told me it would go up to 3 to 4 thousand damn

You should be able to find junkyard engines for cheaper than that.

But 80 in a 35?

You can get a brand new Zetec for like 2200 I think. How did you mess up your filter by hitting a dip?????

do you have CAI and the dip was a big water puddle? Im guessing your intake ingested too much water. And you were going 80 in a 35? Cant say I feel bad for ya

I would think it would be pretty easy to mess up an oil filter if you hit a dip going friggen' 80mph, and the oil filter was located anywhere near the road (I don't change the oil on the Focus so I have never really noticed how close the filter is to the ground). The engine being toast is probably not the only thing wrong with the car if you hit a dip going 80mph.

Dude, I tried to help with your tachometer question, but this is ridiculous - 80 in a 35?? Did you ever stop to think that it might have been 35 for a reason (like dips in the road)?? And you just destroyed a 2003 car? If you ask me that's retarded, if you ever get that car fixed the mechanic who does the job is going to be laughing all the way to the bank at how much money he's making off of your stupidity.

Ummm how did your oil filter get damaged? Theres no way it was anywhere near the ground or close enough to anything else to get punctured. Are you sure you didn't damage your oil pan?

As for going 80 in a 35, be glad you didn't lose control and injur or kill anyone. People like you should be banned from forums like this for such blatant and inexcusable use of your driving privelege.

Isn't this the dude who admited lying under another name? I think he is BS and is making the story up to hear every one say how dumb it is to go 80 in a 35. So I call B.S.... you can't damage the filter on a focus by hitting a dip

He has a Duratec

The oil filter is quite low on them and I would have to think there were some other circumstances or bumps, but one guy ran over a concrete parking thing and busted his.

This is the guy who was posting pictures of other people's cars and claiming they were his own and his 'crews'. He is pretty much a juevenille moron and 80 in a 35 is not surprising, I would consider this episode karma catching up to him.

Either way, going that fast wasn't remarkably smart - the suspension may have been damaged, the sheetmetal of the body/subframe may have been damaged, any number of parts could be wrecked. Having to continue to make payments on a now useless car and to pay thousands for a new engine serves you right as far as I'm concerned. Nelz, I think it's time to step away from the computer - I hope you weren't thinking that this story was going to impress anyone because obviously it did not.

I am guessing you don't have insurance? Since you said you will have to pay for the repairs yourself. 80 in a 35 with no insurance? You should be shot and your body dumped in a canal.
