Angry yummm the smell of toasted clutch (need help!)

ok so i managed to fry my clutch yesterday. its not bad seeing as tho its 90k miles old so i was expecting it. so here is my problem. for the price of a stock clutch and flywheel i can get a aftermarket one. so my question to you is how do i go about doing this. are there any cutch out there for an SVT that are ford certified that a dealership can install. or should i take it to a shop to do it.

i need input kinda fast cause i need my car.

all replies are appreciated

Oliver

The only way I'd take it to the dealer is if they're going to defer part of the cost under warranty/TSB. Otherwise an independent shop will almost certainly be cheaper. Either way, you can use stock or aftermarket...a clutch is a clutch, as long as its made for your car the installation procedure is the same. If the dealership refuses to install an aftermarket clutch when you're paying them they're run by a bunch of idiots.

^^ +2

Aftermarket parts are cheaper, of a better design and more durable.

Ford quoted me nearly $1300 for a replacement.

My local shop did it for $650 (I provided the parts)
