Question Air Conditioner Question

Hey guys,

I'm kinda a newb and I have a couple questions about my car.

I got a new Focus around Christmas time. Now it's almost summer. I've run my air conditioner a couple times now, but it's not really blowing cold air. And when I run my a/c, I can really feel the engine rev up every few seconds. This last part is most noticeable when I let my car just coast.

Has anyone else have this problem? Should I bring this to the dealership immediately? Does anyone know what the problem is?

Thanks everyone. I love this forum.

the car could use a recharge, and how cold is it?...get a temp gauge in there and check it. the engine changing rpm's is due to the clutch of the compressor engauging.

most new cars have dye in it , and being new i wouldint call for just a recharge , they do naturally leak a little but over 6 years would be ok with me not that fast though. it should hold a steady 35-45 degree dicharge temp out your centervent with the ac on max , full blower speed ,windows up (after 3-5 minutes), depending how hot and humid it is . if its not there is a prob .

Take it to the dealer man. Mine is acting up slightly also. Blowing cold then momentarily only cool air and so on. Its going in. No big deal. They'll take care of it.
