Reliability and Recalls...Toyota and the other "Godly" Companys.

So my dads 88 dodge aries k car is about to die, and my parents have been looking for a new car or suv. Of course they were looking at toyota which is praised and is super reliable and all people and critics say its great. All good and the their cars get good gas mileage which my parents want too....but personally i think the looks are not great...especially the new camry which i think the interior is pathetic. I got them to look at the new chevy malibu which I think is gorgeous and one of the best bangs for your buck right now, but it doesnt seem like my dad is going to bother with it, cause its a chevy. So basically can someone find me the recalls that toyota has had and the reliability and such. And if you can find me comparisions like ones from Chevy, and honda, or hyundia that would be great. Or if theres a place i can find that information at. Thanks

Toyota is like an iPod, it's popular and everybody wants one; in the end it's really not that fun to own.

we tried to get a district manager at vw to give us this info for a customer today and he didnt know where to get it. my uncle works for toyota and says beware. if you want something reliable, great on gas, and not plain on the inside, tell hime to get a diesel jetta. 44+ mpg. and its a turbo!

I have never seen it better stated. Good burn of both the camry and the ipod

Why not Ford?

Fusion SE? with the 2.3 it gets 29 highway. Or SEL with the v6/awd is like 26 i think.

I BS you not, THE DAY after the new Camry was on dealer floors, I saw THREE different new Camry's in a 5 square block area of my town. ONE DAY after they were available.

Maybe you could show them my odometer? I think a 170,000 mile Ford that looks and runs as well as mine would change their minds.

this one doesnt say much about the camry, and the number is skewed by hybrid SUV's.
http://www.consumeraffairs.com/news0...a_recalls.html

here is a list of camry recalls... not many... lol

www.google.com
www.wikipedia.org

The Fusion is rated higher in quality than the Camry for 2007.

Doesn't the Fusion I-4 use the 2.3 Duratec?

I think the more interesting information here is that your dad drives an '88 Aries K car... what is he, the last person on Earth to drive a K-car?? Who cares whether it's a Toyota or not, anything is better than that '80s relic. Brings back memories of driving my mom's gutless Lancer.

The Duratec engine is reason enough to seriously think about the Fusion. Even with the larger size and weight, it will have a lot more zip than a POS K-car could ever dream of having.
