Moving on - suggestions on next car??

Well I do believe the time has come to move on as far as my daily driver is concerned. I've taken a few cars for test drives, including an 08 MS3 and a modded STi. Neither car connected with me like the SVT does. However, I'm struggling with a need for a nice, RELIABLE DD that I basically don't need to worry about. I'm also hoping for some mod potential with whatever I buy.

Anyone have any suggestions? My biggest problem is finding a car that fills the SVT's shoes. It ain't easy, I've been driving foci since 02. I see the MS3 is the route most of us go when it's time to move on. Knowing its based on the C1 chassis is nice, and the duratec/ford familiarity is great.

Anything else I should consider, keeping it under 25k? I was also considering a used WRX to mod up, but I dunno.

Oh of course. My buddy has a 472whp evo on 100% alky injection. Its actually going to ICS next weekend for a rebuild and retune.

Sooo, been there done that. Plus the evo is anything but "refined" if you will. Its a purpose built rocket.

Nissan 350 Z. The car just takes you in and conforms to you. I love them, it will be my next car.

Mazda 3 or a Mazda 6. If you get the Mazda speed package they are real nice.

I should be in the market for a new car by this summer, so I've been doing some looking for something else myself.

-I've seen that used 350Z's can be had for a decent price, under 20K, just get the one with the LSD.
-The new Altima SE-R is a pretty quick (260ish hp), haven't driven one though
-I sat in a new Civic Si at the car show, I really liked how the cockpit felt, there's probably some room for tuning there
-Or a used RSX-s (if you can find one), should be pretty close to the SVT in its intent

Just some random thought there I guess...

I dont think a used WRX will feel that refined to you, I test drove a 2006 WRX TR a while back and was really not impressed with the interior.

350Z would be cool, if you don't need a back seat.
E49 BMW 325? Fast, not specifically. Refined, I'd damn well hope so.

My friend has an STI, and I feel that (like the Evo) the STI is far from refined. The 350Z is nice except there is almost no sound deadening, so its loud as hell in there (especially when it rains). And you'd need a second car for winter I assume (I wouldn't drive a RWD sport car where I live). Personally, I don't know anything about the MS3, other than that it looks like a pretty sweet car. I myself like the Civic SI Sedan - a friend just bought one, its not too stiff in the ride, interior is awesome and comfortable. Or if you really like the Focus, why not a '07 ST or ZX3 if you want a hatch?
