Friends and your new car....

So I just picked up my '04 SVT w/EAP last week and let my buddy drive it today. He drives an S4 Audi on a regular basis along with a '05 WRX. Anyway, he got into my car today and proceeded to kill it at the bottom of the driveway. No problem I think, he's just getting used to the clutch. We get down the road a bit and come to an intersection on a small incline. The light turns green and he stalls it. We don't make it through the intersection. He restarts and tries to crawl the 2 car lengths to the intersection to wait for the next light. Stalls again. Restart. Stall. By now, I'm getting really pissed, as well as confused because he spends his Saturdays driving $50k-80k cars. Most of them have manuals. (Tons of torque, kinda the opposite of the Focus.) I open the door and jump out, "That's it! I'm driving!" I kid you not, it smelled like someone had thrown my clutch into a campfire. I'm still pissed and it's been 4 hours since. No one except me and my wife will EVER drive my car again.

[/rant]

In high school, my friend's parents bought him a 1993 Ford Taurus (this was around 2001). One day, he was giving myself and two other friends a ride home. I told him that I needed to stop by my place of work to pick up something. On the way there, we were acting all rowdy as teenagers do. For some reason I had my giant size 13 foot near his dashboard, he hit a bump, and my foot hit his dash and put a nice fat crack in it. He had his car for about two weeks when this happend. HE WAS PISSED. I had never seen him that mad. He dropped me off at my work, but he didn't come back.

I really don't let anyone drive my car. The only guy who I did let drive it was the guy who helped me put the supercharger in it.

Friends don't let friends drive each other's cars. In fact, my friends are lucky if they even get to ride in my car. I have lots of rules.

.....just me only

I do think SVT's are not difficult to drive, but if your used to an S4 and STI both have great low end tourqe and heavier fly wheel that help move the car off the start......but damn I would have learned at least the 2nd time

that is why NO BODY DRIVES MY CAR!!! only family emergencies but thats it! not my mom, not my dad, not my g/f. I always hide the keys. I just got tired of the days of the nasty clutch smell after some one else drove my car!
