SVT whp

Ok so maybe im alil dumb... but from what i know SVTs are 170hp stock... which to me it wouldnt be too hard to reach 200 with mods!but then everyone say it cant happen... so then i figure there must be a huge difference between hp and whp... so this leads me to say...what are they at whp?

alright im gonna shut up now... please help!

I thinky the norm us 145-150, with some reaching low 150's. Its super easy to get 200 whp out of a SVT to. Just throw on a blower.

why do they do that... make two different measurements of power?

They make 2 different readings b/c there are 2 different ways of measuring hp. The first bhp(brake horse power) is the power the engine makes itself and gets measure at the crank on a special machine. This is what manufactures use for their hp claims. The second whp (wheel horse power) is measure at the wheels. It shows the power that is actually put to the ground after all the drive line loss. It's important b/c some drivelines are more efficient than others. Usually the shorter and simpler the driveline the less of a loss in power. The reason the manufacturers use bhp in their claims is for marketing reasons. Sounds better to say a car has 170 bhp than 145 whp..get it?

Might not be worth the money to change your exhaust, the header/exhaust setup in the SVT can only be improved upon to the tune of like 2hp TOTAL.

O wHP/wTQ at idle

I think 150 at the wheels sound about right.

All manufacturer give you the power at the crank, not the wheels.

There's really no point in changing out the stock SVT header.... I think the SVT team and FR knew what they were doing when they developed it ;)
