Ford Premium Care warranty

Can anyone tell me what the Ford Premium Care transferable 100k warranty would cover on a 50k mile 2003 Focus?

In particular, if the clutch went bad at 75k or something, would the warranty cover the clutch? I know it wouldn't cover normal wear things, but would it cover the clutch since there is a TSB and it's well known the SVT clutches are so troublesome?

late 2003 foci come with a 5yr/100k mile warranty standard. no need to purchase it nor a need to transfer ownership of such warranty.

you may be able to get a new tsb clutch if you are still under 3yr/36k warranty. powertrain (5yr/100k) warranty does not cover normal wear items even if they have TSB's. unless your service writer is a complete dimwit, you wont get a new clutch.
besides, its better to upgrade the clutches in our SVTF's.

Well, I'm considering buying a particular used 2003 Focus SVT and it apparently has this "Ford Premium Care transferable 100k warranty". Is this not some kind of extended or enhanced warranty?

The thing is that I am in a situation where I can't have any unexpected car expenses for a while so I really do not want to have the clutch get lousy on me and end up messing about having to pay for a new one and the installation.

hmm I would ask the guy (or drive it urself) if the clutch is any good or not... either that or look at another SVT... there is one being sold on here right now for $6500... has a brand new clutch in it (cuz at the beginning of the sale he said it needed one, then he went and had it replaced.). I think it's in Michigan so if ur up for a drive I would go grab that one... wish I had gotten and SVT instead of my car... 6500 is 1/2 of what I paid for my 13k 2007 sedan

So is the "Ford Premium Care transferable 100k warranty" just the standard factory warranty?

no, it is not the regular warranty. you can purchase it when you buy a new vehicle. the price is about 1000 dollars or so. Covers the car bumper to bumper . I bouhgt it when i got my new car....when my wife bought hers, a few months later, they threw it in as a perk as well as two years of free oil changes!

Ah this is what I like to hear! So, do you think this warranty would cover a failure of the problem-prone original SVT clutch if that was to happen somewhere in the 50-75k range.
