Ford Ecoboost Technology in Focus?

Can you imagine an Ecoboost turbocharged direct injection 2-litre 4 (Duratec?) in a Focus with 275 h.p. and 280 lb-ft of torque? The article claims it is for Ford small cars in the future. The first application will be in the 2009 Lincoln MKS V6.

It probably more than an a idea, that idea could lead us to having a north american Focus RS, that would be awesome.

This has already come up, odds are if the Focus ever sees a GTDI (gasoline turbo direct inject) engine it'll be a small displacement engine (~ 1.0L) making about the same power as a N/A 2.0 with high fuel economy on par with a TDI diesel. That's Ford's whole plan with GTDI, not to necessarily make big power, but to increase the fuel economy of larger vehicles by putting smaller, more efficient engines in them that make the same amount of power as a larger, less efficient engine.
