So what's stopping you from just randomly going on a road trip to the beach?

I'm just about to get my Focus SE zetec 2001 blue tomorrow and the car world is sort of new to me. I wonder why people sometimes don't leave for a weekend to the beach (and sleep in their car). Is this at all logical to do once every month or so? I live in Tennessee.

How about the fact of living in Colorado and working 5 days a week. Doesn't really give you time to enjoy a road trip. :(

I guess I sort of did this last year when I drove to Los Angeles from Seattle in about 21 hours.
I had enough of the Focus by then and wanted to get the heck out of my car.
I also did the same on the trip back to Seattle.

The front seats aren't too bad when reclined but I only slept for about an hour. :-)

i slept in my zx3...once. it wasn't the best rest i have had. i slept in the front seat, though, maybe if i put the rear seats down and slept in the "trunk" it would be more comfortable...
nevertheless, if you wanna go on a roadtrip....GO! be a tourist in your own country! and the sooner the better, with the rate gas prices are expected to climb, you might save money being "wild and impetuous" now and taking a sleeping tour in your focus.
