Just got a Focus

Hey guys, i just got a 2000 Red ZX3.

I have a Turbo Honda Prelude but, this is my "winter beater" but i really like it a lot. I want to personalize it.

It is a 5 speed, one owner vehicle. some old man. lol. The engine has over 170k i think, but its all highway. Tranny and everything is mint on this car. All it needs is a valve cover gasket.

My first thoughts were to get some 16" wheels, MAYBE 17"s but that may be a tad large for this hatchie. And i was looking to drop it.

Are there any lip kits for sale?

Pics tomorrow. Its too late for them now.

Oh, and not going to lie.. I never thought id like any ford other than the powerstroke diesels. But, it grew on me hah. <3

The focus grows on you quick man.
Since it's your winter car, I'd go with an eibach pro kit drop.
Its about a 1.5" drop, which is about perfect for a daily driver.
The focus handles awsome with the pro kit,
and it still offers a comfortable ride.
I'd go with 17" wheels, that is what most people get on this site.
With that combo, you'd get rid of all the ugly wheel gap a stock focus has.
There are plenty of nice lip/body kits available for your focus.
A few good sites for parts are:
focussport.com
steedafocus.com
c-f-m.com
newedgeperformance.com
massivespeedsystem.com

That should get you started, and others will chime in with more help/opinions.
Welcome to FocusFanatics......you'll like it here. Let the modding begin.

Heh, Sure thing.

I am so used to 240whp, 235wtq on my prelude. So, this lacks the "power" But i want to go for a nice clean look.

Wings West? Do they offer a nice lip for this car?

Welcome. WingsWest has made a few kits for the foci. Question is, are you wanting a lip kit, or a complete from bumper?

Well i want a clean look, not the bogus R34 bodykit stuff. Are there other, better/more attractive bumpers that i can also put the wings west lip onto?

Look into SVT or RS stuff...that's the money right there. Otherwise a Mach 1 front lip is supposed to be where it's at, but that one was a little low and not subtle enough for me.

Since it's all I've experienced with the Focus I also recommend the Eibach Pro-kit suspension...but I had H&R springs and AGX adjustable gas shocks on my Civic before it and liked those...anything that's not ebay junk or off-brand nonsense will probably give you a good ride, and everybody has different preferences so I can't tell you what you'd like.

16's are great and 17's also look good IMO but 18's are too large for me. Be aware, there is actually quite a large ride quality difference between 16's and 17's if you use the recommended tire size...that alone will change it a surprising amount.

Anyway welcome, and good luck man.

What engine is that? I see that the Header comes to the front of the car, i thought i saw some goto the back, so, that made me happier.

I am guessing Zetec is the variable valve timing for ford?

So, what motor is this that i have?

as you can see.. it needs work. I am going to guess the lug pattern is 4x100. My lude is 4x114.3

Thats a Zetec and your lug pattern is 4x108. Welcome to FF. You will be fine on 17's and if you just want a slight drop go fro the SVT kit or the Eibach pro kit. BTW if you want a new antenna I have one just shoot me a P.M. and we can meet up.
