how to tell whether has HID in photos?

I'm probably about to buy a 2002-2003 Focus SVT. When I look on Autorader, eBay motors, etc I see a lot of pictures of the cars but not necessarily comprehensive listings of what options they have.

I've learned how to tell if a car has the Audiophile system by looking at dash pics for the in-dash cd changer.

Now I would like to know how to tell whether or not a Focus has HIDs. Are all of the ones with projectors HIDs, for example?

What was the first year they became available, and how much do they cost if you buy from Ford to replace halogen headlights?

if you can get a car without them for 1000 bux cheaper buy it. cuz they are 500 used in good shape on here and you'll have 500 for K&N filter, tune, and header wrap.
