Hyundai Genesis Coupe

have you guys seen this car????

apparently they have a 4cyl Turbo or a v6 option both RWD.

the v6 is supposed to break 300hp and roughly 250lb tq.
the 4cyl is supposed to have roughly 215hp

I saw it on a mag cover as the mustang killer.

What i think is magnificent about this is that they will be CHEAP! the turbo4 is probably under or right at the 20g mark and the v6 is probably only roughly 25k.

i havent seen some real numbers but a friend of mine who has a turbo tiburon said this is what his community found or is saying.

for 25k, you get a 300+hp RWD car... thats pretty sick imo. even the turbo would be awesome... i know that the stock 4cyl Tiburons out can handle 400whp with stock internals.... lots of guys on his forum that are turbo are running that... so if they are using the same motor.... i wonder how easy it would be to upgrade..

I think itll come out 2009 or mid2008?

what are your thoughts??

i read an article, says it has same performance as a 350Z at a fraction of the cost.. im interested into seeing how it really does in production... but there is no doubt that for the money, you'll probably get the best available performance. hp per dollar.... i wonder if anyone has seen any interior shots.

A Mustang GT is 25k as well and will most likely outperform it. The GT beats the 350Z as well. I have seen a few pics already and it's not my style at all. We'll have to wait for the real thing but by 2009 I'm thinking Ford will be bumping the HP in the GT anyway.

I like the looks of it and if they loose the ricer hood I think it will do well.

yeah, until the rustang runs and hides in the bushes everytime it sees a road that isnt straight. stangs are crap in the turns in OEM form.

Genesis Coupe?

its still a Hyundai

wonder if the crappy parts that are on every other Hyundai will leak and deteriorate. did i mention shotty brake components? 300+HP is nice unless you cant stop it.

I'm very excited about this car! Scrammer, i don't have any experience with Hyundai but from what I've read they are actually pretty well made cars. The good thing about Hyundai is that they follow the typical Japanese strategy of long deliberation and very quick implementation, which means that this car has probably been a long time coming and hopefully they put enough into it from the start of the project to make it a quality life automobile. I'm sure it will have quirks when it first comes out but I bet it will match the mustang in quality. It WILL probably be pretty heavy though. Also, i was under the impression that they were gonna stuff a V8 in this thing? A v6 with 300 HP would be nice though! I think I would have to go with the turbo model simply because boost = horsepower and upping boost is much simpler than a slew of boltons and junk. Can't wait to see/hear about it!
