new 2007 ZX3-S

I'm picking up my new Focus this Saturday. Didn't realize how scarce these base model cars are - no options, no A/C.

2 black and 1 red/brown left in Ontario

What's wrong with you Americans ? How come you don't like hatchbacks ?
The Canadian market isn't big enough to keep these in production.

I would have picked yellow - safety and finding it in a parking lot sea of beige metallics. No one else in the family wanted yellow.

Moot anyway .There is only 1 left - somewhere in Quebec. My local dealer wouldn't bring it in. Another dealer said , "they weren't allowed to."

Amazingly , there was a $1,000 spread in price quotes on the exact car. I got the last silver one directly from the dealer who had it on the showroom floor.

So simple faxing for quotes , e-mailing and phoning.

I keep my cars until they wear out or piss me off.

In the market for winter rims and tires, but with new rubber , I'll wait until the sales start in a couple of weeks

near Toronto CANADA

I would take a no options focus, I could careless about power windows/locks and AC.

I wish you could still order a mustang like this. No unneeded weight.

There's three '07 S model hatches at a dealership in Denver. They have reduced the price of these to $9988.

Thats what mine is, '07 ZX5 S. It was the last one they had one the lot and I grabbed it up. I cant understand why anyone wouldnt want the hatch, it makes the car that much more versatile.

Or if you ask me, a lot less things to get broken and need expensive replacement down the way. And stuff that is dead on reliable.

I got my 07 ZX3 last month with the only option being A/C (can not live without it in the summer). Started at dealer invoice of 14.5K. With discounts etc, got the price down to just under 11K. Owned 45 days and already have 5K miles on it. But even here in the Washington DC area, a 5sp ZX3 S (with the air) took a bit for the dealer to find, I could have gotten a nicely equipped ZX3 SE with aftermarket wheels from the same dealer (however it had the auto which I did not want period) for only a couple of hunderd dollars more. Like you I like the base car for daily commuting as there is so much less to break or go wrong. Enjoy it I am loving my silver one.

1st day - 140 kms

Drove from dealer to Krown for oil treatment.

Missed most of the snow storm.

I'm pleased !

Very smooth transmission, comfortable seat. the armrest is very nice.

Only complaint, the wiper blades don't ... A huge patch on both sides is missed.
The blades seem too light.

Not good in a snowstorm and road/salt spray.
