Ordering 2008 Focus SES! Need Help w/ Audiophile Stereo

Hi,
I am currently ordering the 2008 Focus SES sedan for my girl. She wants it stick will all the options and that is not possible to find. We are getting the
Vista Blue on Black leather.

I have a question about the Audiophile upgrade. It says the option consists of 4 coaxial speakers and a subwoofer. Do you think the speakers are different from the stock ones? Is it still a total of 5 speakers or 9?

Do you think it is worth the $635 price tag?

I am getting:
interior lighting
leather
heated seats
abs
Sirius?

At invoice price. Any other suggestion.

Thanks a lot.

The stock speakers sound good enough for most people, but I'm sure the audiophile system will sound MUCH better.

I don't know who is making the speakers that Ford is using now, but JBL used to be Ford's upgrade audio specialist. JBL makes very good speakers for cars.

I'd say- what the hell, why not? You've already gotten all the other goodies, why not this one?

5 speakers.

Yes, it sounds much better then stock. I have the audiophile system in my ST. That being said, I'm pretty sure it is Sony that makes them. (Sony Audiophile sound system) Plus it says Sony on my speaker grills instead of Focus . Also, the speakers are red.

That's all I really have on that one.

So I understand I am paying for the subwoofer. What's special about the Sony speakers? I really need to decided if it is worth $635.
Thanks

Well, they're better then the stock speakers. Plus you don't have to upgrade the sound system yourself, as in purchasing and installing them.

I'm not sure, but with the audiophile on the '08, you should get a 6 disc in dash cd player. That's how it was on all previous years.

Is it worth the $635, well that's a tough question. You'll have an upgraded sound system that is better then stock, that if something goes wrong with it it will be covered under warranty and you won't have to worry about putting in a multi disc player (if equiped).

If you plan on doing it yourself, it could probibly be cheaper in the end, but then you would have to put a cost to your time to do it all, and tally it all up.

Very true about warrenty and less hassil and itll look more stock. is it worth the money compared to other systems you can get out there...prob not. I was building a 08 focus for fun last night on the website and I was thinking about the same thing. To me the stock speakers are fine, and I couldnt justify getting the audiophile system just for speakers. The 6 disc changer is nice, but now that you get SYNC with the SES and option on the others, a changer is pointless if you have an Ipod or MP3..which most people have. Thats something to think about. Not to mention if your getting Sirius it doesnt seem like you'd be using the cd player a whole lot.

You live in cali...get the sunroof package instead of the system.

if you want a sub i say get thte audiophile as well. the 8 inch in the trunk is nice and loud without drowning out everything else. my mom's coupe has it and i really like it. its enough bass without rattling the plate on the back.

No its not worth it, especially if it is Sony. At best they make OK car audio stuff. You can get a better system then that for $635. And that way you will get exactly what you want.

Even install if fairly cheap for a speaker and a deck swap. Stock speakers sound alright on the Focus, the deck is where you get the most bang for your buck.

I say if you want better sound go get an after market system. You may pay a bit more. But it will sound alot better.

$635 for an 8" sub is nuts.

I agree, although I never listen to music. My silver 02 Focus had 2 front pioneers one amp and one sub.... but I never listen to music. (so it's pretty much my fault for buying stuff I hardly don't listen to)

Although I have a stock cd deck (that I don't use often) I am not planing on upgrading.

As for the audiophile thing goes, if U listen to music often it would be well worth your money; for you and other company U have driving with you.
